online Chinese input method

learned about this very useful online Chinese language input tool from mis_nomer. i can "type" Chinese online now without needing to download any software. if i can find one that types original characters and that blogger can use, that would be great!

其实,不需要特别软件来打出中文字。只需要有 Microsoft Windows 就行了。

Sorry, could you read those Chinese Characters?

If your operating system is Windows XP (or even Windows ME or Win 2000), you can configure your Language toolbar to appear under "Regional Language" (find it under your "Control Panel". That way, you can select which language you wish to type in. You do not need special software to do so.

I use the hanyu pinyin input method. I think there's another method using "strokes" - handphones also use these options, either strokes or hanyu pinyin. Another input method is using a writing tablet.

If you're using Apple Mac, then-I don't know. *hehe*

Sam, 你的中文很好。We have both PC and Mac, and I've just set our laptop to type Chinese PRC, but I haven't figured out how to set it to the input system I want...the kind that lets you select words from a popup menu after you type the pinyin.

My Chinese - enough for me to read simple Chinese emails and buy food in the market. I can only coach my kids in their Chinese subject up to Pri 2 standard at very most. That's how limited. Ah...and my violin teacher speaks ONLY Chinese, since he's a 70yr old originally from China.

For Language Toolbar, try this on Microsoft:

They might both be similar, I didn't bother to read. I only know that usually I have no problems configuring it with any of our new computers. ;-P

That's why I refuse to buy any Chinese writing software which they always try to sell at fairs in school.

Actually, the Help menu was good enough. I activated the "Prompt Step by Step" from the Properties menu. Now I get word options to choose from after entering the 拼音. Nice! I also like it that I can switch between 簡体 and 繁體字。Thanks again. 我想我因該開始多寫中文。

You stayed in Taiwan for awhile, is it? That's why you like to use 繁体字?
